Learn the fundamentals to keep you and your friends safe this winter!


Do you travel through avalanche terrain? Do you know if you are in avalanche terrain? Do you know what to do if there is an avalanche with one of your party buried? If you answered no to any of these questions, it is highly recommended that you take and Avalanche Skills Level 1 Course.

We will fill you in on the fundamentals of avalanches, avalanche terrain and how to save your friend/s if there ever is an avalanche.

*Avalanche probe (we recommend 3m or above)
*Avalanche Shovel
*Skis/Snowboard/Snowshoes (Snowshoe specific courses availabe)
*Backpack to carry avalanche tools and other gear
*Lunch, snacks and fluids
*Warm layers

(Groups must be in the same cohort or from
the same household)
*Lunch from Kootenay Coffee Works (Fresh made sandwich, homemade granola bar, apple, veggie sticks & dip)

Minimum of 4 guests required to book this trip. This trip departs from the Radium Visitor Center. If the minimum is not met additional fees may apply. Privates are available, please contact for details. If this trip is cancelled due to weather and or unsafe conditions a full refund will be available.
